Riley Coleman (they/them) is a human-centred design veteran who's on a mission to rapidly increase AI literacy with a focus on responsible innovation.
Riley's impact-driven career spans 10 years creating behaviour change programs in the not-for-profit sector, including a harm minimisation program that won awards from both International Red Cross and United Nations.
Before studying a masters in human-centred multimedia and transitioning to user experience design. Riley has spent the last 9 years working in design leadership roles including leading the largest design-led transformation team at Telstra. Before moving to the EU to lead design teams in the startup sector, including at Taxfix, where they scaled the design team by 400% in 12 months across multiple countries and multi-language product launches. Most recently, at Epidemic Sound, where they led design operations and built research operations from scratch.
As the founder of AI Flywheel, Riley is on a mission to democratise ethical AI expertise through human-centric training programs that make responsible AI implementation accessible and practical. Their aim is to build a community of practice around human-centred ethical AI design.
Their diverse experience reinforces a core belief: the best innovation happens when we combine technical capability with human insight. We all have the chance to tip the scales towards a future where humanity thrives alongside trustworthy AI systems - or not.
