Stephanie Post

Senior Digital Asset Specialist

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Stephanie Post has worked at The Met since 1994, beginning in the Photograph and Slide Library. In 1997, she transferred to the Curatorial department of European Sculpture and Decorative Arts where she developed a love of ceramics and pursued her master’s degree from the Bard Graduate Center. In 2004, Stephanie returned to the Photograph and Slide Library, as an Associate Museum Librarian. When the Library closed in 2011, she transitioned to Digital Asset Management where despite the change of job title and medium her responsibilities remained the same. Over the past 20 years, Stephanie has been researching, identifying, and cataloguing tens of thousands of photographs, assisting scholars with research, giving presentations for colleagues, writing articles for the Museum’s website dedicated to never-before-seen images from The Museum's collection, and in 2020 had the unique honor of Co-curating the exhibition, “Art for the Community: The Met’s Circulating Textile Exhibitions, 1930-40” providing new insights and research on these historic installations.
