Susan joined the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library (TRPL) in 2023 as the Senior Curator of Collections. She is the former curator of Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, Theodore’s home in Oyster Bay, NY. Susan managed a collection of over 250,000 objects that tell the story of TR and his family. She managed two separate multi-year, multi-million-dollar renovations of the 26-room historic mansion.
Susan provided a new vision for interpretation through seven temporary exhibits and the redesign of permanent exhibits at the Old Orchard Museum. Susan lectured frequently at other institutions, edited multiple Roosevelt books, and wrote articles for newsletters and academic journals. Susan also worked on several documentaries, including Ken Burns’ series The Roosevelts: An Intimate History.
Susan has a BA in History and a MA in Public History. She lives in Southampton, NY with her husband and 2 dachshunds. The TRPL offers Susan a new opportunity to use her extensive knowledge of the museum field to bring the history and accomplishments of Theodore Roosevelt to future generations.
