The Art and Practice of Managing Digital Media

Lee-Anne Raymond

Manager, MV Images (DAMS), Collections Information Systems

Museums Victoria

Lee-Anne is a museum professional of 21 years and a practising artist with a health care background prior to joining Museums Victoria (MV) and the wider GLAM and DAM sector.

Lee-Anne has been lucky enough to serve in many roles including managing collection’s systems information, digital assets, technical support and public access during a period of dynamic digital transformation and change often under challenging conditions. In the diverse workplace that is MV open access and accessibility responsibilities require harmonizing with complex cultural, humanities and scientific speciality standards and protocols. It is an amazing and interesting environment in which to practise.

In Lee-Anne’s current role, she manages MV’s Digital Asset Management Systems (branded “MV Images”) and its integration with the State Collection’s CMS. She is fortunate to have a background that is creative and one that crosses paths and intersects the technical, digital and physical State Collection Management spheres. It all works as a complementary skill set.

What others say

It is refreshing to see that the issues Digital Asset Managers face around the world are indeed universal. Events such as these provide an avenue for DAM professionals to discuss challenges and share solutions. By remaining platform agnostic in these sessions, Henry Stewart provides a place for safe and honest discussions.

HS DAM events are definitely a great learning opportunity about DAMs and other related subjects. Each lecture focuses on different topics and ways of integrating DAMs to different fields. Looking forward to other events such as these.

The DAM Asia-Pacific conference by HS Events exceeded my expectations. The presenters were very generous and informative and the space was welcoming and inclusive for all levels of DAMS practitioner. Thank you again.
