DAM and Collections Management for Cultural Heritage LA 2027

Jenna Domeischel is the National Collections and Repatriation Lead for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), providing technical expertise, policy development and implementation, and leadership for the agency’s collections management and NAGPRA programs. Her work sits at the intersection of curation, repatriation, digital stewardship, Indigenous data sovereignty, and institutional policy.

An archaeologist and museum professional, Jenna previously served as curator of the Blackwater Draw Museum and is anadjunct faculty member at several universities, where she has developed and taught courses in museum studies, forensic anthropology, and ethics in osteology. She has published extensively on archaeological collections, repatriation, decolonization, digitization, and collections ethics, including recent work examining NAGPRA considerations in digitization policies.

Jenna is a founding board officer of the emerging Association for Archaeological Collections and Repositories and serves on the Federal NAGPRA Network Steering Committee. Her professional service has also included the National NAGPRA Grants Review Panel and leadership within the Society for American Archaeology, where she chaired the Committee on Museums, Collections, and Curation and founded and served as the first chair of the Curation Interest Group. In 2022, she received the Department of the Army Civilian Service Achievement Medal for her work in USACE repatriation.
