After studying history at university, Allison began her career in paper conservation, necessitating a lot of time spent in archives and learning the importance of properly kept and easily attainable records. With this past experience, Allison is incredibly passionate about the digitization of assets, through which a level of accessibility is gained which benefits each level of an archival enterprise.
Allison is currently a Media Archivist at Paramount Pictures. In this role, she supports photography and film preservation within the Stills Archive team. She primarily works with photographic prints, slides, negatives, contact sheets, original artwork, memorabilia, and born digital assets. A special project she is particularly proud of is the first-time conservation and digitization of CBS’ Star Trek Television Collection.
Digitally processing assets make up a large percentage of her work, from attaching metadata to images, to helping manage the massive DAM system. Allison is eager to continue to employ new technologies to refine and streamline the archival process, such as utilizing systems for sorting out duplicates and AI filters for searching through the DAM platform.
