Heather has been creating and editing taxonomies for over 28 years and has recently returned to independent consulting. Prior roles have included senior consultant at Enterprise Knowledge, Knowledge Engineer at Semantic Web Company, and Senior Vocabulary Editor at Cengage/Gale. Her work involved metadata, taxonomy, and ontology design, taxonomy revision, tagging and indexing, and taxonomy governance and documentation.

Heather provides online and live training in taxonomies through Hedden Information Management, professional training organization programs (including Henry Stewart), and conference workshops. Heather is author of The Accidental Taxonomist, 3rd ed.
