Melody is a Brooklyn native Creative leader. She has had an expansive career in advertising and tech. Most recently Melody was a Creative Strategist at Facebook and Instagram, working primarily to globally scale the democratization of creativity to Small businesses - empowering them to grow their business through mobile first creative.
Prior to Facebook, Melody spent 20 years as a creative in Advertising, responsible for shaping numerous global brands across 360 platforms at various ad agencies. As a Creative Director/Art director by trade, she has been instrumental in serving as creative leadership for brands like BMW, HomeGoods, T.J.Maxx, NetJets, Dell, Six Flags, John Frieda, Lancôme, Citibank, Verizon, and LOréal to name a few.
Melody is also the co-founder and Creative Director of a Small Business, Curly Girl Collective. As creators of CURLFEST® — the world’s largest natural beauty festival, the company’s mission is to build a global community that educates, celebrates, and connects women of color with naturally curly hair. Creating a platform which gives a voice to a historically under represented community, in doing so her company will ultimately shift societies definition of the beauty standard.
