Festival of Creative Operations 2022

Joel is the Associate Director of Creative Operations at JLL, a Fortune 200 Commercial Real Estate firm with over 200 designers. He comes from a background of jazz composition and drumming. Writing and playing hundreds of pieces for ensembles ranging from 3 to 100 helped him understand how to create frameworks for creatives that strike a balance between process efficiency and creative freedom. 

Combining that with 15 years of experience in a multitude of industries at large companies like JLL, RR Donnelley, Life Fitness, and Wolters Kluwer, he finds ways to make his creatives’ work lives a little easier and creates programs that foster a culture of continuous improvement and support. 

After work, you’ll hear him plinking away at the piano and creating the perfect Negroni while exploring Chicago’s many cultural charms.
