Alexandra Bernet

Digital Archivist, DAM Administrator

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts/Hachette Book Group USA

Alex has over 10 years of DAM experience with media companies such as Conde Nast and Hachette Book Group.  She is starting a new role as a digital asset manager at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts shortly.  Starting in the traditional archive world and working in the corporate world and moving into the cultural sphere has informed her roles of digital archivist and DAM administrator.

Over the course of her career, she’s worked on creating taxonomies for photo archives to large-scale digitization conversion projects to metadata creation and mapping to several DAM implementation and migration projects.  Being responsible for evaluating current workflows, vendor selection, metadata governance, and user training keeps her engaged with both the front- and back-end of DAM systems.

Mainly, Alex is interested in examining how existing data structures adapt and evolve when exposed to DAM technologies and capabilities.

What others say

HS DAM events are fantastic as they provide an opportunity to learn more about all things DAM. It is also a great place to meet others in the field.

Guideposts

I have over 10 years of experiences as a DAM, and  I am always looking forward to the Festival of DAM or any other event organized by Henry Stewart. The conferences are always presented by experts of the matter. Anyone interested in DAM should attend.

HS DAM events never let me down. I always come away with new information or perspectives that hadn’t occurred to me, which, add to my knowledge base and enhance what I am able to contribute in my role at L’Oreal.
