November 17, 2:00PM PST

Creating Inclusive Pathways for Success

As professionals in the photo studio industry, we know the challenges when addressing issues to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion in our field.

We also know that with the help of a few bold and creative pathways, we can meet these challenges and drive real progress.

In this talk, Karen Williams will start by discussing the historical lack of representation and opportunities for underrepresented photo creatives. She will then tackle, head-on, existing barriers and biases that hinder DEI efforts and present innovative ideas and effective strategies to overcome them.

Karen will explore both the power of mentorship, networking, and career development opportunities for underrepresented talents and the vital role that education and training can play in fostering a truly diverse, authentic and inclusive industry.

Key Takeaways:

  • Understanding the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the photo industry for innovation, creativity, and fresh perspectives.
  • How to generate, explore and adopt creative solutions and pathways for success.
  • Resources for finding and supporting underrepresented photo creatives.
