Marc Stephenson is one of the co-founders and Director of Metataxis.
He has spent decades working on the design and implementation of information systems with an emphasis on the usability, architecture, and practicality of technology solutions. Marc has extensive experience, formed over many years, in creating and implementing data models, metadata schemas, and taxonomies, that are the essential foundation to IT system implementation and good information governance regimes.
Marc has migrated, architected, designed, implemented, and configured many information management systems, ranging from intranets, document management systems, record management systems and ECM portals. He recognises the need to design solutions that deliver maximum benefit at minimal cost, by focussing on the business, users and crucially the information requirements, over technology and functionality. Marc is an excellent facilitator and communicator of information management solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. He is an active contributor and speaker at many information management conferences and online events.
Marc’s technical background in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence allows him to understand and exploit current AI tools and techniques for his clients. That deep understanding also enables him to cut-through the hype of these new AI initiatives and think about what users really want and what will actually deliver value.
