The Art of Assessing the Planning Potential of a Site Before Making an Application

Juliette is a real estate lawyer based in London. She has a wide-ranging commercial real estate practice encompassing investment, development and financing (both conventional and Islamic financing). Juliette acts for a number of institutional lenders, real estate funds (particularly within the energy and social housing sectors) and developers. 

She has acted on a large number of notable and complex mixed-use developments and, in particular, she spent 19 months on secondment acting as in-house project legal adviser for the redevelopment of the Old War Office in Whitehall, London from former government offices into a Raffles hotel and luxury residential apartments. This entailed assisting the project team with all commercial, property and development aspects of the project. Juliette continues to advise on the real estate aspects of this development.

Juliette’s experience includes advising on site assembly and preliminary development considerations, due diligence and negotiation of documentation required for land acquisition and development (including sale contracts, transfers, works deeds and overage agreements), financings for both acquisition and development stages of the development as well as post-development sales, lettings and/or re-financing.
