Richard has many years’ experience in advising on property matters and resolving property disputes. Prior to joining RLS Law, he worked at Lovells/Hogan Lovells and Mishcon de Reya, in the course of which he advised a varied range of institutional, corporate and entrepreneurial clients.
He has a broad practice in contentious matters concerning real estate, including insolvency and professional negligence. He has a particular focus on commercial and residential landlord and tenant disputes including lease renewals/extensions and dilapidations issues. His particular specialisms include issues arising from rights of light, party walls, electronic communications and advertising spaces.
Richard has published articles on a number of topics in various property journals including Estates Gazette, Property Week, Property Law Journal and RICS Commercial Property Journal and is a regular speaker on real estate issues at conferences and other events. In 2013 he was recognised by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star and Legal 500 has said that he delivers a “clear explanation of issues and possible avenues.”
When not lawyering, he enjoys music (particularly singing), beer, walking and spending time with his family – sometimes all at once.
