What’s My Hotel Worth? US Hotel Market Trends and Valuations

Joe is a licensed hotel broker in Texas. He has completed over $125 million in hotel transactions in 30 states in the US and brokered financings on hotels of over $90 million. As a (former) MAI appraiser, he led appraisal practices for Laventhol & Horwath and PKF international accounting firms where he valued over 400 hotels, as well as a brokerage unit for Landauer Associates. He landed two asset management contracts from the RTC, and had $380 million in hotels under management. He has chaired ethics committees, served on various loan committees, and has worked for different investment funds buying value-add hotels for renovation and eventual sale. Mr. Strain has published articles on hotel training, hotel valuation, and Equity Multipliers, and is a member of the ISHC.
