Martin is a healthcare industry veteran with over 25 years continuous experience in the sector. Having qualified as a chartered surveyor in the early 1990s he chose to specialise in 1997, initially as a healthcare property valuer and more latterly as a broader advisor to investors, lenders and funders. Having spent many years running the healthcare valuation business at Christie + Co, in 2016 he created the UK healthcare advisory team at Cushman and Wakefield. Over the next five years he grew the team from just himself to 28 employees, winning two industry awards along the way. He has provided advisory work for most of the largest UK operators or investors, such as HC One, Barchester, Four Seasons, Signature Senior Lifestyle, CareTech, Welltower, Aedifica, Elevation and Impact Healthcare REIT. Martin left Cushman in 2021 and, after a brief stay with one Real Estate Investment Trust, he joined the investment manager business of Impact Healthcare REIT Plc in July 2022 as Managing Director.
