Steve Sponsel is Director of Service Development in Mayo Clinic’s Multimedia Distribution Platforms division, a 125-person team that manages a comprehensive digital asset management ecosystem spanning video, photography, illustration, publications, and enterprise media platforms.

With a multidisciplinary background in graphic design, systems analysis, electronic health record design, and healthcare administration, Steve has led key initiatives in Mayo Clinic’s evolution to modern digital asset management, digital publishing, and clinical media platforms. His work includes guiding the development of large-scale video and imaging solutions that support surgical and procedural workflows across the enterprise.

In addition, Steve serves as administrator for Mayo Clinic’s Patient Health Information Solutions team, where he oversees policies and processes for the secure management of protected health information (PHI), including clinical imaging assets.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and a Master’s degree in Health Information Management.
