Managing a DAM system, from metadata taxonomy to asset governance strategy, solo or in a team, is already hard work. Managing DAM users – the flesh-and-blood human colleagues who use the DAM – can be an uphill task that becomes even more difficult if the users are, shall we say, difficult.
Even the most user-centered DAM strategies are unable to cope with all the varieties of problematic DAM users: the complainer, the tech-challenged, the ‘charging rhino’, the uninterested; the list goes on. As Sartre said: “Hell is other people”.
However, behold the paradox: users are one crucial reason why a DAM exists, and no matter how difficult they may be, without them, the most well-structured DAM is a waste of space.
In this session, Billy Hinshaw, Associate Digital Asset Specialist at BISSELL Homecare, Inc., discusses some problematic DAM users you may experience. He will provide tips and strategies for ensuring that your DAM – and its DAM manager/team – remain strong, sane and productive no matter what you encounter from your users.
