Session 2: Building the 21st Century Museum with the Computer History Museum (CHM)
Life as we know it does not exist without computing.
What does a museum dedicated to the history of computing do to stay relevant in a world where computing is ambient?
Dan’l Lewin, President and CEO, together with Heidi Quicksilver, Vice President and CIO of the CHM will explore the role of cultural institutions in the digital world, how it is fundamentally changing, and what's next for the museum field over the next 10 years in terms of digital technology drivers.
How the CHM, and others in the GLAM community, might consider their future is a complex problem. In this session, Dan’l and Heidi will discuss how they’re building a roadmap to deliver a 21st century museum and reference architecture to serve the museum field.
