Dr. Robbie Melton, Provost and VP of Academic Affairs and Technology Innovations at the SMART Global Technology Innovation Center and a tenured professor at Tennessee State University, has been named a 2025 Leading Woman in AI. A global researcher and consultant in AI in education and the Internet of Everything, with expertise in mobile and immersive technologies like VR and AR, she serves on the SREB AI Commission and has presented in over 30 countries, advocating for AI’s role in higher education. Known as an "Appologist," she founded the Mobile App Resource Center, champions Open Educational Resources for global access, and trains leaders in AI policy. Her numerous honors include the Top 50 Women Leaders in Education (2023), the USDLA Hall of Fame (2019), and the OLC Leadership Award (2017).
