Nicola is a Senior Lecturer in Executive Education at Newcastle University Business School and Degree Programme Director for the MSc Strategic Leadership and Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship.

Nicola’s research interests focus on leadership, entrepreneurship, and gender with small business, having previously published papers in the International Small Business Journal, International Journal for Entrepreneurial Behavior and Research, and Gender in Management: An International Journal and European Journal of Training and Development as well as co-authoring a book chapter on the experiences of women senior leaders and another on diversity.

Nicola is also the co-founder of Gender and Entrepreneurship North East (GENE), a collaborative space for researchers, policy makers and practitioners to progress issues of gender and other categories of social difference in entrepreneurship in the North East of England.

Nicola has a current interest in developing inclusive pedagogic methods for executive education learners.
