Who is this course aimed at?

This course is designed for all those who support property practitioners in any of a wide range of roles, those thinking about embarking on a career in property, those who would like a refresher on key property concepts, students in the surveying profession and all who practise in other professions where an interface with the property world exists.

What is the course’s primary aims?

Based on the concept of ‘The Property Wheel’ the course covers all the important areas: site finding, planning, design, construction (including building contracts and professional services), occupation, documentation (leases, licences and options), sales, valuation, management and finance.

As a key thread for the course, one worldwide agenda item confronting the property and construction industries is global warming. Global warming and regulations to combat climate change are impacting the costs of occupation, the value of buildings and both the standards and costs of development. The requirement to find solutions to reduce temperature rises and create more sustainable construction processes and property assets has become an important factor affecting the property market. How each aspect of ‘The Property Wheel’ is impacted by climate change and the new regulations to confront it will be carefully addressed.
