Preparing and Managing a DAM Migration, with David Iscove and Stephanie Lemieux 

As organizations evolve in their approach to Digital Asset Management, a new technology implementation often becomes appropriate to introduce more advanced capabilities and remove any dependencies associated with old ways of working. A migration of existing and legacy assets is usually required to ensure availability of critical content. A migration is also a great opportunity to improve findability and streamline content operations, building on lessons learned in the existing DAM.

In this course, attendees will learn how to identify and perform the required steps involved in planning and executing a successful enterprise-scale migration of creative assets, including:

  • How to plan the migration based on current business priorities and discover opportunities for improvement
  • How to ensure that the new DAM has a solid information architecture and supports findability of the assets to be migrated through taxonomy and metadata
  • How to manage the delivery and verification of files into the new DAM in bulk
  • How to build a project plan involving team assignments which supports a milestone-based approach to migration
